Ivan Massow - CEO

Massows founder and CEO Ivan Massow has been a financial adviser for over 23 years. He formed Massow Financial Services in 1990 and grew it to become one of the largest IFA's in the UK. Massow Financial Services was originally created to help people who were having difficulty getting financial advice and insurances because of their health status, and was the first company in the UK to offer mortgages, pensions and insurances to people in high-risk groups and find mortgage solutions for people with mental health issues. Massow Financial Services did not pay commission to its financial advisers, and was one of the very first companies to adopt this policy.

Ivan has chaired high level enquiries into social exclusion in the financial services sector. He has also been a finance editor for magazines such as GQ and Esquire, a finance contributor on many TV shows and a regular columnist for most of the major broadsheets.

Sarah Killick - Compliance Director

Massows Director Sarah Killick is authorised by the FCA and a Chartered Financial Planner. She has a special interest in retirement options. Chartered Financial Planners are widely recognised as having attained, and maintain, the highest and most prestigious level of professional achievement. Sarah has degree in law from University College London and the Law Society Finals Examinations. She has worked in financial services since 1990 and during this time she has held a number of different roles and seen significant changes within the industry.

Sarah has a particular interest in furthering the increased professionalism of the independent advice sector and fully supports the separation of commission and sales from the advice process.

Lisa Thorne - Head of Operations

Lisa has worked alongside Ivan Massow for over 20 years, helping to deliver a wide range of projects across multiple industries and sectors including online, retail and charity. Lisa project managed the launch of Jake, which was established in the early days of social media and grew to become the world's largest online community for gay professionals. Other projects include the launch of Halos-n-Horns, which achieved the fastest-ever growth rate ever for a UK product launch in this sector and went on to win the Channel 4's 'Make Me a Million' TV series, and Compare4Good, a fund-raising price comparison website for Oxfam.

With a background in political journalism and media - both traditional and new - Lisa has a wide range of experience in this sector, from book publishing and design to PR, event management, branding and marketing. Lisa established Asian Affairs, a monthly magazine which has established a reputation as an authoritative voice on Indo-Pakistani relations, and is also an LGBT Consultant, helping to deliver innovative D&I solutions for companies including Barclays Global Retail Bank.
